| Hi I’m 16, 5’10, 150 and I’ve been riding dirt bikes and quads for about 2months I learned a lot about technique and body English. Why do people say that riding 2 strokes too hard isn’t good cuz of the possibility the engine can blow up? And that some times it’s not worth buying 2 strokes of any kind. I’m planning to buy a dirt bike, if I do get 2 stroke how can I prevent that from happening. I like power, speed, acceleration and adrenalin rush. 2 stroke or 4 doesn’t matter an awesome dirt bike.

| i've ridden 4 and 2 strokes. if power, speed, acceleration and an adrenalin rush is what your after, 2 stroke. kx,cr,yz,rm. if you ride much on trails, through woods, consider the kdx 200 or 220. still 2 stroke just a little more controlable. keep the proper mixture in the fuel tank, and proper shifting to prevent excessive engine wear. do expect to have 2 stroke engines worked on a little more, but it will be worth it. be safe! ride both, for more than just a minute or two. being 150 lbs, i wouldn't consider anything smaller than a kdx 200, or a cr,kx,yz,rm 125, but you really have to keep the 125s revved high, tough to ride in woods, they are awful easy to bog down. i don't know your riding conditions, what do your friends ride? talk to them too.
