| the crf 50 is a 4 stroke and the pw 50 is a 2 stroke so the pw is faster.

| i am 10 i have rode a pw 50 and a crf 50f. the crf 50 is much faster than the pw. the crf goes like 25-30 the pw 15-20. he would be better on a crf 50. you could not take the shifter off and ride like that u will blow the engine buy a littler shifter or leave it the way it came. you can also tha the sparkarresster off for more bottom and top end

| I got a CRF 50 for my son this past Christmas when he was six. He is now leading the points at thelocal track for the 50 Oil Injected Class. This is an easy bike for the kids to learn on. If they can ride a bicycle, they can ride a CRF 50.

| I have a 4 yaer old and a 7 year old. I put the 7 year old on a crf 50 when he was 6 and he does great on it, he can pick it up when he falls and kick start it when it stalls, but the crf is a little too big for my 4 year old so hes got a suzuki jr 50. the jr is smaller and lighter but the seat can be raised. My 2cent worth get the crf if hes physically big enough for it.
