I am looking at a 02 yellow 900 monster i.e. and a 01 red 900s monster. Are there any advantages to the 02 or are they the same bike?

If I remember correctly, the 900s isn't fuel injected like the 900ie. Also, the 900ie has the 748's close ratio gearbox. My 2002 has dual exhaust, and the 2001's I looked at had single. Thats about the best I can do for you. Good luck....

The 2002 has made considerable changes i,e., odometer layout is better, wet chain(more reliable and quieter), and fuel injection. They have made other changes as well, just can't think of it offhand. But the price might be considerable enough to go with the 2001. Also, learn how to adjust the valves, it will save u in the long run.

These guys are wrong when it comes to fuel injection. all the 900s have fuel injection starting in 2000. I have an 01 900 Dark. i think the only real differences are the new gauges on the 02, and a theft deterent system. if the 01 is much cheaper than the 02, or if you really like red over yellow, i'd go with the 01. I actually had the same choice as i bought mine new in january last year, and the deal on the 01 was too good to pass up.

mmm, there is a difference, but not in year but in the S version. Reading from the folder, the S has fairing and rearseat cover standard equipped as well as carbon exhaust guards. That's about it. But get the red one, a Duc should be red!
