| Triumph's warranty policies are like any other m/c manufacturers warranty policies. I own a 2002 Yamaha V-Star, 2 weeks after purchasing the bike I started to have electrical problems. I called Yamaha and spoke with there representative and he stated that I made some modifications to the bike so therefore my warranty was voided. They haven't even seen my bike but made that statement. They ended up paying for the repairs but after the Consumer Dept. contacted them.

| I wonder where he really got his information. They are high quality and a 2 year unlimited miles warrenty means a lot to me! They are great bikes. I purchased mine from a dealer in Concord NH. (I bought his only one) He told me that due to the factory fire in March 2002. What Bonne Americas there were is all there is for now until production restarts when the factory is rebuilt. (they are hoping August or September.) If you find one, I would recommend this bike to anyone. I live in Northern VT where most people have HD's. I like to be different. I draw a croud where ever I go. I like the comfort, power, and handling in the corners. This is my first NEW bike and I will have my America for years to come.

| | I agree with previous statements. The dealer is blowing out of his a#%. Sounds like sour grapes because he has lost his dealership and doesnt sell them anymore and is badmouthing the companies product which is appalling. Triumph now make some the finest individual motorcyles in the world and are now up there with the jaq bikes for reliability. (one of the most unreliable bikes i owned was a yamaha YZF600R). Any manufacturer has a certain degree of recalls and triumph has one of the lowest in the UK. (excluding TT600 engine mapping updates). I am so lucky that i live only 15 miles from the factory. The rebuilding after the fire is well underway and production should be starting up again within a couple of months. Not all of the factory was affected with parts, accessories and completed bikes unaffected by the fire. It was mainly the office space and triple engined bike assembly area that was affected. Word is that Triumph are going to to use this opportunity to update the tooling on the Daytone 955i and introduce a Bonneville America Sport model as well as cafe racer versions of the non USA Bonneville. I cant wait.... |

| A number of years ago Kennedy's Cycles in Elyria Ohio did the same thing. They had been a Triumph/BSA/Norton dealer up until the bitter end. When Tri came back in '95, the agreed to give it a go again. About 18 months later the bikes were gone. Same reason, crap and poor support. At the Motorcycle Show Triumph told me they all got into a pissing contest with Mike Locke (Gone now!) at Triumph USA, and dumped the brand. Old man Kennedy was a racer from the old days and is mentioned in the book Triumph in America. I think the new company with Bloor is better and stronger, and even if they keep burning down the factory they still should be with us for awhile.

| Don, I had an 01 Triumph Adventurer and sold it with only 2200 miles because of dealers in my area no longer carrying the bikes, limited accessories, some quality concerns (oil leaks, gas tanks coating inside coming off) even though it was under warranty, etc. This area (tennessee)is not a hotbed for these bikes for some reasons I would not write publicly about. I bought mine new for $6000 from a dealer out of business and sold it for a good loss after 3 months. The local Triumph dealer would only allow me $3000 towards a trade for a Japanese bike. No thanks, I sold it, and bought an older HD. Email if I can help.
