| Is this a good bike for a second bike? My first was a '79 Suzuki GS450, which I rode for almost two seasons before it crapped out. Now I've been without for a few years and I'm looking at the VFR.
Opinions please. Thanx

| My first bike was also a Suzuki GS450S. I think it was a 1980, that was 21 years ago. I now own a 2001 VFR. While the GS450 was probably the strongest bike in it's class 20 years ago, it is nowhere near the performance of a VFR. However, I don't see any reason why a VFR wouldn't make a fine second bike for someone with two years experience. It handles & stops well and has plenty of power. The beauty of the power deliver though is that it is not intimidating, it just makes useable, smooth linear power from about 3000 rpm all the way to redline. As with most bikes, if you don't twist that right grip too far it's pretty tame. Whack that throttle open though and hang on...
