| | This bike fits me perfect and the price is the only thing I don't like. I know this isn't a trail bike but I was just wondering if it would work. I also heard it had a good bottom-end which I'm guessing would make it even better. I have looked at all the trail bikes and none of them seem to fit my needs. I was just wondering if this is the best bike motocrosser for my needs? |

| its ok if you dont mind fouling a few plugs! it can get expensive i use a 03 kx 125 for a sometimes trail bike but mostly on the track in the trail hold the clutch in at low speeds and bip the throttle to keep plugs from fouling

| | If you have some experience on a motorcycle, that would help you with trail riding. But I have read a lot of reviews about the 105 sx and it has a very torquey engine at low rpms. Also if you weight less than 110 lbs. you will have to work to keep the bike under control more than a 120 lb. rider. You also have to remember that it is a two-stroke, so it is more pipey than a four-stroke. You have to go all out on a 2-stroke, you can't putt around like you can on a 4-stroke. |

| | I had the same problem as you about 3 months ago. I was coming off a Yamaha TTR125l was about 5-3 and only had 85-105cc motocrossers to step up to. I started hearing from everyone that they produce little to no torque. I started doing some research and I got nothing with a seat height under 36in. and weight around 200, oh you can't forget price either. If you're a woods rider god has answered- Kawasaki KDX200, I know its another 100 cc. of two stroke but its a challenge worthy of a commited rider. What about desert riding-Wait a couple months and go for the Kawasaki KX250F or the Suzuki RMZ250 (They have way more torque than the Honda or Yamaha). I suggest you wait until you are 5-5 and be sure you get a 2005, the 2004 has problems. But if you are a desert rider you do have another choice, the Kawasaki KDX220. The only problem with this is that you may have to make the rear sprocket 2 teeth smaller, I suggest either Fatty pipe from FMF, and a KDX200 carb if you are really desprate. but after all that a slightly used 250f may be worth it. Here is a list of bikes deffinetley not to get, Honda CRF230F- good woods riding but if you try to take it to the desert you'll get smoked by 85's, Yamaha TTR225 or TTR230- Same as CRF230F but weighs even more, Suzuki DRZ 250, Yamaha TTR250, or Honda XR250- Weigh twice what they should with half the power, last and most importaintly any 85-105cc. motocrosser, and that says it all, if you take it off the track just hope you have luck on your side. I hope I've solved all your bike problems! Also the seat height is adjustable on most of these bikes. |
