| In my opinion the answer to this question should be based more on size and experience than on age. I would say that if you have been riding since you were young and you know how to handle a bike you could ride a 400 at about 16-18 years of age. I started riding when I was about 8 years old but I didn't get to ride very much until I was about 16. I started out on a 250cc and rode that until I was 21, when I started riding a 500cc on a regular basis. But, once again, I feel that experience and being big enough to handle the bike are the most important issues when choosing the size bike you buy.

| As long as you have previous motorcycle experience, and are physically capable of handling this size bike, any legit age should be fine. That means you can lift the bike if you dump it, you can reach the ground when seated, and all the controls are within your reach and the layout fits your build.
