| | Can you start with a 748 for your first bike? Ive ridden a couple time before and Im planning to take the MSF class. Also I heard that the 748 is like a 600 but comes off the turns faster. What problems would I face if i decide to get this bike besides the dry clutch and dropping it? |

| | You can start with any bike you feel like. Free country and all. Take the MSF course and some time to think about it. I firmly believe that a VERY responsible and VERY rational person can start out on a 600cc machine. If you are in the tax bracket where the extra $4k doesn't scare you, go nuts. For a first bike though I would think that you would be wasting you money on the 748. Riding Italian twins would be more of an art. I would suggest something else to learn the skills of a good rider. If you must get a duck, a 600 monster would be a great place to start. The 748 and the 998 are for more accomplished riders. The twin will have good grunt out of the corners, but the 600s will do amazing things if you can keep them spinning. |

| I HAVE A FRIEND WHO HAD A 748 AND OWNS A R6 NOW AND HE WOULDN'T GIVE BACK THE R6 IF HIS LIFE DEPENDED ON IT. THE 748 IS WAY OVER PRICED AND "NOT AS FUN" AS HE SAYS. IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY TO WASTE, WASTE AWAY. LOOK AT ALL YOUR OPTIONS. IF YOUR A BEGINNER YOUR NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO BE FASTER OUT OF THE CORNERS FOR QUITE A WHILE ANYWAY. AND UNLESS YOUR RACING ON A COURSE YOU SHOULDN'T TAKE A CORNER FAST WITHOUT HAVING GONE ON IT MAYBE FIVE MINUTE PRIOR. WATCH OUT FOR GRAVEL!!!
