| Im 20 and have ridden dirt bikes since I was about 8, I realize street ridewill be very different from MX. I recently purchased a used firebolt (xb9r) for a pretty good deal. This is my first street bike, and after reading everyones Q & A about how this is a bad beginers bike, I cant help but think I screwed up. It already has the race kit (muff, intake and chip), Im signed up for the riders saftey course but it wont start for a few months. I will not be getting rid of this bike, so what are some key things I should keep an eye out for (with this bike in peticular) as a beginier? Thanks

| mike dont be scared of that bike it is yerry forgiving compared to some ive ridden just dont get caried away. youre going to love how it sticks in a corner ,the power is not overwhelming so you will find it hard to accelerate to the point of out of cntrol but it is still fast i had mine for 8 months totaly stock she would get 105 mph in qt mile 13 sec.. had a few problems with mine dash lites trans was a bit clunke and seemed low of power . be careful snaping the clutch for wheelies i blew my belt off at 2800 miles you can feel the slack get worse few times before it goes. but realy its a good bike i dont know youre milage but when i hit 3000 the entire bike had changed broke in nice trany smothed out got more power, smoother everything .If you like this one for the ride and the handle but not the power checkout the xb12 ive got that now they did a great job fixing all of the little gripes people had mirors are wider rear pegs are lower belt system improved lots more power.. for youre benifit get a service manual so you can keep youre primary chain adjusted and clutch they make a big diffrence. good luck youle likeit
