| Three months ago I put a deposit down on a T100 Bonneville. As anybody who keeps up on Triumphs knows that the factory caught fire two months ago, and put a screeching halt to production of certain models for the rest of the model year. Unfortunately, the T100 is one of them. Got my deposit back from the dealer, who has a great reputation for backing up what they sell, and cannot fault them. Is Triumph going to resume production of any 100th Anniversary bikes, or is everyone out of luck?

| I believe production of T100's has now recommenced -- I heard something like 200 will be coming to the US. My local dealer told me he will be getting 4. You may want to log into the New Triumph Bonneville Forum at Delphi Forums to get more information on this topic.

| According to the Autumn edition of triumph's own magazine, Torque, production has started in the rebuilt plant early this month (Sept) at around 20% of pre-fire output. They say they will build up the capacity to pre-fire levels of 730 machines a week over a 12 week period from early September. They have publishe photos of the rebuit unit and say it will be the most advanced m/cycle assembly line in the world.
I have a 2001 Bonnie & love it so I hope you get the T100 ok. They have also brought out a new cruiser, the Speedmaster, based on the Bonneville which made its debut at the Munich show in Germany. Why not write to them at Jacknell Road, Hinckley, Leicestershire, England LE10 3ZP.

| | Well, I don't know the answer to your question, but I was fortunate enough to get one of the few (I think 94) T100's that were built before the fire. I ordered mine in September 2001 and took delivery in May 2002! But, the wait was worth it; the T100 is very nice. As good-looking as I expected and very much fun to ride. Hope it works out for you! |

| | I was lucky enough to get a T100 Anniversary Centennial Edition. Just walked into a local dealer, saw one was on the floor and drove away. I did not realize the limited availability of the bike, or the production run numbers. Just a note of caution, I have done a ton (I mean a ton) of research on how many "T100 Anniversary editions" are being produced. The answer depends on who you ask. The lowest I heard was 166 units, the highest 243. Triumph is not releasing the numbers, so it is a guessing game. In any event, it is a GREAT BIKE! |
