| I have a honda recon atv and when I start it the choke starts backing off immediately and the atv stalls. I have to hold the choke and guide it down slowly as the atv warms up. Once the bike stays running at idle on its own which takes quite a while I try to ride it but it acts as if it is bogged down and even starts popping out the exhaust. I changed the spark plug thinking that maybe it was faulty due to old gas but it didn't help. As long as I hold the choke up half way or all the way up it runs pretty good and doesn't back fire but once the choke is all the way in it acts up. Does any one have any ideas how to fix this? I am thinking that maybe I need to clean carburetor. Please email me at jkz3883@yahoo.com with answer. I am in the Army and will be in the field training and my internet access is very limited. If not I will get on here and check replys when I get back in a couple weeks \
thanks

| It could be the air fuel mixture. It sounds like it is running alittle rich. And try to add a carb. cleaner to ur gas for a couple of tanks. I had the same prob and that curred it. hope it works
