| my 1300 v-star is a 2008, has anyone else noticed in the owners manual, how small, & undefined there description of doing the normal lube maint,. is?
I have been trying to find a site that may let you print larger & more detailed description of doing these lube duties.
Any help would be welcomed, I know you can order the full service manual, but I don't want to rebuild the bike, just do the recommened lube points. |

| You're absolutely right about our owner's manual, but this also is the same with most makes & models of bikes today. It's the "service manual" you need when it comes to a more complete instructional guide.
HERE <---- is a site that will download the 1300's service manual, the identical one that's also available elsewhere on a CD. And, this one is FREE, although "donations" can be made to the provider by going to the home page.
NOTE:
Depending upon the project, there will be instances when there will be shortcuts available that are much more efficient than what these service manuals suggest. Example: when adjusting the rear shock to a different setting that stock, which is what is generally best for those with Tourers who ride 2-up, the manual says to remove the exhaust pipe from the rear cylinder and also to disconnect the fuel hose. That's really silly - - since neither of these things are needed, not at all. Instead, it's best to remove only the bolts from the belt guard and get it out of the way, nothing more. Many of us wondered how they could have included such instructions in the manual, but we still like much of that which is provided as it can become a great help in accomplishing certain tasks.
Anyway, I hope this will help. Once downloaded, save the file it to a specific folder for future reference. You'll be glad you did.
Stay well.
