| | My 800 will run fine for a few miles then the right exhaust side will start to get hot and the vehicle will start to backfire and lose power. And the only thing to keep the vehicle from shutting down is to ride hard on the accelerator and it seems fine till you have to slow down. I've checked my radiator and it's clean my fluids are topped off and my fan turns on as it should. Does anybody have a any idea what can fix this. |

| | I have a 2006 800 doing the same thing but i have 2590mi on it. what i think is over heating as soon as i stop or go slow it wants to die, back fire and will even die and then wait for 15 min to go again and I have to keep on hard just to keep going I love my bike and it's been good to me for the most part I do take care of it |

| | Have you tried replacing the ignition coil? I have had very similar problems and brought it to the attention of a friend who builds and races Polaris. He said he has seen it many times and it winds up being the ignition coil. Apparently the factory coil has been overheating, which causes misfiring and lack of power. I just ordered a Dynateck coil pack for my 06 800 Sportsman seems to be running fine. |

| | yeah that was what i was thinking. i'm going to order an aftermarket ignitor and coil. sad thing is i've taken it 3 times to the dealer and the only thing they could come up with was spark plug and loose battery cable. |
