| Color me stupid. It has been a long time since I did my own work on a bike (1972 Honda 350)
I am attempting to remove the rear seat to mount some saddlebags that were given to me. I just can't seem to make heads or tails out of the information I have located.
Can anyone provide step by step instructions for removing the rear seat on my 2007 Honda Shadow VLX Deluxe?
Thanks a million!

| | It's a simple matter of pushing down on the seat, and then pulling backwards. All that holds it on is a C brace that slides under a plug of sorts. At least, that is how my 2004 VLX seat worked. |

| I have 2005 but it shouldn't be any different. There are 2 bolts on each side behind the front seat (btw front and rear seat are one piece - at least on my bike).
Remove these 2 bolts, then remove the large bolt situated in front of the front seat. You should see part of it right between your legs.
Then pull to the rear the seat to slide it off the 2 hooks located underneath the rear seat.
Reverse the procedure to install back.
There should be enough room for the sadlebags underneath the seat. See also attached exploded view.
Hope it helps.
