| | I know that watercooled is better , but how long will an air cooled engine run. Had a 86 goldwing that had 210,000 mi on it can u get that out of an air cooled engine? |

| For the most part, a water cooled engine provides distinct advantages, but your question is one that can't be ansered logically. Some engines will see 59,273 miles, some 173,208 miles, some 39,810 milles, regardless of whether they're air or water cooled. How you take care of them, along with the fact that some bikes, regardless of how you take care of them, will last longer than others.

| also, try not to look at the 210 K as a benchmark or goal. its hard for most cars to reach that kind of mileage, so using that number as an example for choosing the cooling style of a motorcycle is impractical. generally liquid cooled bikes will last longer and perform better, but like Morg said, you could treat any engine in such a way that you'll get a lot or a little out of its lifespan. or you may just get lucky or unlucky on the motor you get.
