I was reading an article the other night about buying a new bike from a dealer and it raised an interesting question. This person said that there are many hidden costs thrown in that you do not find out about until you are making the purchase. Things like the fee for them to put the bike together, dealer costs, etc, etc. The bike he wanted was something like $6,500 and ended up being something like $8,000 or more when they finished the sale. Can anyone tell me more about this so I know what to expect.

you have TT&L, assembly fee, destination charges witch add up really fast, approx. $1,500.00 additional charge.

tax title and license are the only true additional fees you'll need to pay. so count on those.

if you pay the dealer their destination and assembly fees, that's up to you. either tell the dealer to eliminate them or do a better deal on the actual price so that the total ends up being the total amount you want to pay. I've had it work both ways where they just cut out the fake fees, and we then dealt on the bike price, and where the guy told me the dealership had to have the fake fee, so after we dealt on the bike, he subtracted it from the final price and then charged me the fake fee. either way I paid what I wanted, that's all it really boils down to. just don't allow it to be added on to your final price.

you should be able to get the dealership to waive or eat the extra fee's, if not tell them you will go elseware, Drive out on my 2007 was just about 150.00 over dealer invoice.
