I havent riden for about 20 years and the largest bike ive had was a 550 Katana. Looking at 1100 Sabre or a 1300 VTX. Both are gorgeous bikes. Now my questions. Wife will be with me alot and im a little concerned over the weight of the bike. Should i be? As well, i have developed a case of carpel tunnel and am worried about the vibrations through the handle bars. Any one else have the same problem. Would like to hear any advice anyone might have before i purchase bike. Thanks.

First of all, with either bike you mentioned, it will be only a very short while before you (or your wife) realize the need to get a sissy bar & back rest for her. Do you homework and research carefully each of these 2 bikes to be sure one of them will suit your needs. They're both nice, but certainly different. The VTX is considerably heavier and won't handle nearly as well as the Sabre in slow speed maneuvering. On the highway, they're both good, but the VTX is obviously better. Depending upon where and how you expect to be riding, the fact that both of these bikes have carbs, rather than fuel inj, it may not pose a problem. What I'm about to say is unfarely stated since I don't really know enough to make this assumption, but based solely on what you have mentioned, it seems that the Sabre would "possibly" be the better choice for you.

Just a thought....don't discount altogether the Kawi 900LT, an excellent liquid cooled and fuel inj bike that comes with a windshield, sissy bar, saddlebags and a much larger gas tank, all for the same price as the Sabre. It's a super mid-size cruiser, especially for riding 2-up.

Good luck.
