Hello to all,

I have a small scooter and now i have decided to get a larger bike.

From the first minute i saw Boneville i fell in love with it! However the problem is that in my Country Cyprus, there is no dealer that sells Triumph. So i will have to import from another country.

Thus i have some questions guys if you could please answer in order to help me with my decision to buy...

- Do many of the Triumph owners have mechanical problems? Because if i import, i would take it to a general mechanic to have it serviced, thus he might not be able to fix some problems.
- Is Bonevvile a good choice as a first large bike for me? I would mainly use it during weekends or even workdays just for a ride around. I live in Cyprus and there is sun 320 days a year

Any help would be widely appreciated!

A good friend of mine here has a 2006 Bonneville and really likes it a lot. It's light weight and ease of handling is good for her, at about 5'6" or 5'7." But, she does feel that its seat is positioned about 2" or 3" too high for her. It's a nice bike to ride on our local roads and also does quite well out on the open highway. It's given her absolutely no problems during the 2 years she has owned it.

Back to another issue, that being there are no Triumph dealers located in your country of Cyprus. This is an issue that could potentially create a real inconvenience should a problem occur or a part be needed. Not to turn you against the Bonneville, but before you make your "final" decision, you may want to include in your considerations those bikes that are sold in your area, weighing their advantages & disadvantages versus the Bonneville. There are some other really nice choices in that same class of bikes. After all is said and done, it is still a choice that only you, yourself, can make. Good luck.

Thank you for the reply.

The thing is that i do not want to turn my mind back each time i am going to ride a bike and say: ohhh i wished i bought the bonny...

A friend of mine told me that i can go to a general motor bike mechanic to have it serviced, and i can order parts and accessories (if needed) from the internet.

Even if i go at a Honda shop in Cyprus for example - probably they would have done the same exactly thing with their parts

It sounds, then, like you need your Bonneville. : ) Get it and enjoy the great ride.

in the end i hesitated because of no service support over here in Cyprus.

I will buy a smaller bike for now, and will have as a future target to get a Bonneville !

I believe your decision is one that is wise. Are there several other makes of motorcycles sold in your area? Of those, which one do you prefer?

I am skeptical now…

As it is my first big bike I don’t want something expensive, thus I am thinking either for a used Honda Shadow, or get a Daelim Daystar 125cc, which is very cheap.

I will be searching the market for any good used ones, at the price that I want, otherwise I will go on the Daelim.

thanks,
Haris
