| | Looking at a 2007 rstd Is it possible to remove the foot fairing so that more air will hit the feet and lower legs. I rode this bike and thinking of buying just did not like the heat around the lower legs and foot area. so what is the solution? Do I keep my 2004 Vstar 1100 or trade up to the rstd. thanks Marty |

| 'Never owned or have ever ridden any Yami other than my RSTD. I suppose you could find a way to remove the cowlings, but I'll never take 'em off. I agree with the consensus that the rider is more comfortable overall with them on -- certainly, my feet will stay drier in an unexpected downpour.
Remember, although the RSTD is styled like a cruiser, and provides cruiser-like comfort, it's actually a touring 'bike, especially considering that the smooth, quiet V-4 turns only 3500 rpms at 80 mph in OD. Those cowlings make for a much more comfortable experience out on the super-slab.
Alternatively, I suggest equipping the engine guard with a pair of highway pegs if you really need to get your feet into the wind.
Good luck.
