| I bought a new 2008 DR650SE on March 27, 2008 and have had the first 500 mile service and a total 1500 miles on the bike now. It is a great street bike and a fun forest service road bike, maybe a bit heavy and geared tall for real trail riding. My real question is about the mechanical noise of this machine. I think the engine/tranny etc. makes more noise than the exhaust. Any comment from other DR650 users?
I've added Parabellum winidshield, Suzuki Gel Seat, Happy Trail Skid Plate, Happy Trail Highway Pegs and a Cycleracks.com rear rack. All great stuff (I left the factory installed hand grabs and original turn signal light position inplace). |

| | I to have just purchased a brand new 2008 Suzuki DR650SE. The mechanical noise I hear just seems like normal stuff. If you're really concerned about it, ask the dealer about it. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about, but just for your peace of mind, have the dealer listen to it. |

| PS: Here's the review I wrote on my 2008 Suzuki DR650SE. I typed 2009 instead of 2008 in my review.

| | AS you probably found by now, the noise you are complaining about is caused by the exhaust is too quite. Because the motor is air cooled and hasn`t got a waterjacket to quiet it down. Put a loud erxhaust on, it`s the only way to stop kangeroo`s jumping out in front of you! |
