| I have a 2006 GL-1800 Goldwing with the factory NAVI GPS system and one of the bottom CF card middle pins is broken off the circuit board (located in the rear luggage trunk ). Now the GPS no longer recognizes the CF Mapsource card when it is plugged in. Now detailed map information is no longer displayed. Does anybody know how to repair this problem, know of a place that repairs them, or have a unit that they are willing to sell at a fair price to get me back up and running?
This is a poor design, shame on Honda and Garmin for such poor packaging. You can't see what you are doing to orient the card properly (located in the back of the rear luggage trunk at a RH angle). They also fail to indicate that the card can be inserted two different ways, although there is only one proper orientation. Very bad Engineering and poor documentation.
Has anybody else experienced this problem and get told that they will not cover this under warranty? If so how have you resolved your problem?
