I am having some problems installing a GYTR Air Filter on my 2005 Raptor. Is it necessary to cut the plastic mounts for the stock air filter off? Even then, the air filter is not sitting flush due to the plastic that protrudes from the bottom of the air box and inhibits the GYTR from being easily installed. Is it really this hard?

High-flow, oiled gauze filter offers superior engine protection. Reusable. Must use Billet Air Filter Adaptor Plate (GYT-5LP95-10-00, sold separately). Service with Genuine Yamaha Gauze Filter Cleaner and Filter Oil, both available from your Yamaha dealer.
