re: RM250 or RMZ250.....i havent made a choice yet on which bike i want can someone help me on which bike is best?

As a former racer of the RM's, here's my outlook:

First, it depends on which year bike you're considering and what type of riding...casual track riding/racing, or sanctioned racing...you'll be doing.
1. RM250 had a new design in 2001, making it better, but not great. Prior to this, I'd stay away from it. In 2004, the RM got a much better motor. This, along with its great handling, allowed it to become a nice bike to own and ride.
2. RMZ250 - unless you get an '07 or '08, don't get it as it experienced lots of issues and "down time." But, in 2007, it received an entirely new design, new motor and became a new bike, altogether, also becoming a serious contender on the tracks. It was finally, once again, a very dependable and reliable m-crosser.

Handling for both models is not far from the 125...really great...but it does this with an obvious increase in power. It's all a matter of $$$. The best choice, by far, is the newer Z, but your bank acct will help determine what's best for YOU. Good luck.
