I bought this craft about six weeks ago and it has been great until now. It was running at a top-end of around 63MPH. I put it on the trailer after using it for a few hours with no problems. The next time I put it in the water it started fine and accelerated close to normal but it will only run about 43MPH top end now.

What could it be?

p.s. I have owned boats forever but this is my first PWC!

I am a newbie to PWCs as well so this may be a dumb answer. I have been looking at a pair of '07 FX OHs and they have a "Low RPM" setting that reduces the max speed by 30%, which, in your case, would equal out to the loss of max speed you are getting. If you have this feature, it should just be a button press away (on remote transmitter). If you do not have this feature, this post was of absolutely no help to you. Good luck.

P.s. if this problem is corrected with this, how happy are you with this unit?

Thank you for the response; I appreciate that you tried to help. Unfortunatley, the 2005 did not have the low RPM feature. I thought that might have been it too...

bBfore this problem I absolutely loved the FX. It is very comfortable and stable but still ran over 60 MPH. Everybody that rode it loved it too. In fact, a buddy of mine went out and bought two FX Cruiser HO's after riding my FX Cruiser.

Hi Jim,

Were you able to figure out your top end problem? Mine has just done exactly the same thing. I get 43mph top, but always had 65mph. Yours or anyone else's advise would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris
