not if you are a new or less experienced rider. Other bikes like this (but a little bigger) that may be good are Katana 600, Honda 599, Kawi ZZR 600. If you have a few thousand miles street experience, one of the 600 supersports would have more than enough power for your size, but too much bike if new to riding.

I'm about the same size... I'm 5'10", 240lbs. Being good size you can man handle that bike and go 120 no problem. It's great bike for beginners, but one big negative is that you'll look way too big for the bike , so you won't look cool . I'm slightly smaller than you and all my friends tell me it looks like I'm riding a bike made for midgets. No problems with the bike though.... Later!
