It's not uncommon for new brakes, especially rear ones, to emit a crazy sounding and seemingly abnormal buzz/screech when applying the brake. That sound should slowly fade, as mine did, and then it became unnoticeable at about 700 mi. If yours persists, ask your dealer to check it out during your next service.

I have found hundreds of thousands of threads on cruisers at DelphiForums.com. There, you can read something pertaining to just about every topic imaginable. It's free and totally harmless, but you have to register to participate. It's where I learned far more about my bike that any other place.

(this has 154,000 entries with more than 11,000 on technical issues alone). Once there, click on "MESSAGES" towards the top left, which opens up all of the various topics. The site is terrific.

Enjoy your great bike.

I took pads off and took a piece of fine emory cloth, laid it on flat surface and rubbed pads in circular motion until vissually seeing light swirls on face, then put a small dab of bendex brand disc brake quite on surfaces touching caliper and never had a problem again. This was from an aftermarket repair manual. This worked on front as well.
