| | I been looking at bikes for 3 months now and the only bike I found that I really like is the Vulcan 1500 Classic. I looked into the VTX 1300, Vstar 1100, Boulevards, etc. The Kawasaki is the best of the bunch. The price is right for a 1500, a fuel gauge, fuel injected, hydraulic lifters. I went a few weeks ago to pick up the V-star 1100 but its old technology and I dont feel like taking half an engine apart to change an oil filter or adjust valves. The VTX1300 is ok but the Honda engine has a "plastic" look to it. Also I know its probably no big thing but I had 2 old KZ 750's that had at least a low fuel light and it came in handy. I cant believe they sell bikes for $10,000 and dont at least have a low fuel light. Reaching down to turn the petcock to reserve at 65MPH and hoping the bike dont die is no fun. I wont be doing a lot of extreme highway riding and I also considered a Vulcan 900 but the 1500 sounds a lot stronger with the right pipes. If Kawasaki made a Vulcan 1200 Im sure they would blow the whole motorcycle market out the water. I been reading a lot of reviews and see a lot for the VTX, V-star, and boulevards. I thought that for the price and quality of bike and the specs that the Vulcan 1500 would have the mose buyers out there. |

| Danny, I have an '06 Classic 1500. Bought it in Dec. Traded up from the V* 1100. The Vulcan is a great bike, IMHO light years beyond the V* 1100. Yamaha just came out with the V* 1300 this year but it didn't do anything for me and I wasn't going to go through the expense of trading just to gain 200 CCs. You won't go wrong with the 1500 Classic. I've put 7,300 trouble free miles on mine since March, most of those on the freeway. She loves to cruise at 80; under 70 5th gear tends to lug. Lots of power, torque, and very comfortable. Gas mileage--I'm averaging 47 mpg. You should check out the Vulcan forum at Delphiforums. There are lots of Vulcan owners out there, and we love to talk about our bikes. --Jim

| Thanks Jim,
I also been looking at the V-Star 1300 and its not for me either. I called my insurance to find about about the 1500 and they want $860 a year here in Chicago. Im not 16 with me first bike, Im going on 44 years old ! I wont be doing much higway riding and am considering the Vulcan 900. I know its best to always get the biggest bike you can but I been spending a lot (wasting a lot I should say) of time looking at some older KZ1000 classics and Im not gonna spend $3500 for a 30 year old bike that all need work and I cant put bags on to ride and enjoy. I do think Im to old for the V-4's and would like the sound and right of a torquey V-twin. I wish Kawasaki made a 1100 Vulcan with the new style. The 1500 is beautiful butmight be a little more bike than I require and I sure dont need to pay twice as much for insurance on a bike than I do on my Van. |

| Just great !
I went to look at a vulcan 900 and the dealer has the 1500 in black and the silver/blue. He will sell me either one I want for $8100 including freight and prep. Just add tax, plates. That 1500 is sweet. They are both 2007's with 0 miles. Looks like Im buying the 1500 Monday ! |
