I'm about 190 lbs. and my sweetie is around 135. Will the DL650 do the job for us as a 2-up day (or evening) cruiser? 90% of the riding will be just me so I really don't need the DL1000, but the other 10% needs be pleasant and safe for her too.
THANKS

Hi,

I'm about 185 lbs and my wife is about 135. I bought a 650 V-Strom about three weeks ago thinking that I'd be the one who rode it 95% of the time, but after giving my wife a ride or two she's addicted so we primarily ride two up now. The 650 handles both of us with no problem and is great for cruising around. I can see how if we were to do a lot of long range travelling the 1000 would be a bit better, but there's nowhere or distance we couldn't go with the 650. It was a great purchase and we don't regret it for an instant. I hope this helps. --Joe
