Whats the difference between the R1200 GS and the R1200 GS Adventure?
Couldn't I just buy the R1200GS and eventually add upgrades to make it an "Adventure" model?

BMW website says: taller windshield, adjustable seat, extra wide footpegs, rugged 8.7 gallon tank and engine guards, and optional ABS, are different for the adventure. the regular only has a 5.2 gallon. The adventure also has knobby tires for true offroad touring. In other words, the GS is better suited to riding more on the road and less rough terrain, and the GS adventure is more for the offroad, potentially rugged long touring. From the look of it.

baggage is incompatible also. adventure has the rugged (steel?) cases. GS has expandable molded plastic.
