im comparing the two bikes and was wondering what everyone lse thought aout them.

for a first time riding 6' 185 lbs and no need for all the speed.

i kinda like the katana 600's looks, i like how the front end is closer to the wheel, think it looks sportier.

but also love the color and looks of the kawaski 650r

i see the katan is abot 450lbs and the 650r is only abtu 380..

i live on all backroads so i was thinking the 650R (paved roads btw)

what do you all think

thanks

Honestly - the 650r hands down.

Katanas are oversized, underpowered, very bulbous, outdated, and kind of the jokes of the sportbike community.

you will not get nearly the looks or enjoyment out of it that you would from the 650.

In your opinion.

In the opinion of tens of thousands of motorcycle riders, the Katana is a great all around bike, that happens to be bulletproof, and has been so for five times as long as the 650r has even existed. No doubt the 650r is a great bike too, but there's a reason why its not the only one made.

By the way, your response was to a 7 month old post that was posted by someone who hasn't logged in since the day after it was posted. They're probably not going to get the message.
