I am trying to decide which manufacturer and model to purchase for ocean use in virginia. The closed loop seadoos seem like the way to go but there seems to be some maintenance issues with the superchargers. Any recommendations from experienced owners? Keep in mind I want a 3 seater with plenty of HP to pull tubes/skiers.
thanks

I ride my 2007 RXT SC seadoo in the saltwater all the time. Its the best ski out there for saltwater riding. This is my second doo, and never had corrosion issues or maintenance issues. The closed loop system is a must for people that plan on doing a lot of saltwater riding.

The only year that had Supercharger issues was 2005. Stay away from 2005. Other than that, have fun blowing away 90% of the jetskis out there!

Most Sea-Doo models run pretty smoothy in saltwater. However, you have to make you wash of the engine after riding becuase the salt will corrode the engine and its components.

Superchargers tend to corrode because the gears spin at approx. 42000 rpm. Often people have tp replace their superchargersafter 6-8 months however if you flush the engine afetr each use, this should not be a problem.

hi, i have a 07 RXT. I ride mostly frshwater and try to stay out of saltwater. I recently took mine into saltwater and wish i had not. I am still trying to get salt deposits out of the hull and i washed and sprayed it down with silicon throughout. If you have to ride in saltwater, seadoo is the way to go!.....
