Hi, I am a new rider thats planning on buying a bike soon and I want to start off with something small and controllable....can anyone tell me as far as style, looks, and performance which one would be better? the 250r or the 500r....I know the 500r has more power but I've read many places that the handling in the corners is extremly well on the 250R....anyones advice would be helpful, thanks

Sorry I can't be much help, but those are both great bikes for beginners. Just like you said and would be expected, the 250 should handle better, the 500 should be quicker. Neither is too much bike for a beginner, although in the wrong hands, any bike can be too much. You might be more likely to outgrow the 250, ability wise, but if you really get into riding, you'll likely outgrow the 500 too. Sooooo...sit on both, try to get a feel for both, try to find out if one delivers more vibration to the rider's hands, and base the decision on which one is more comfortable/less vibration, which one you like the style of, and if you think you'll eventually become a more aggressive, higher performance rider. If you don't plan on becoming really high performance, aggressive rider, get the 500, you'll never outgrow it. If you do plan on riding high performance someday, get the 250, because its a slightly better bike for beginners, and if you got the 500, you'd wind up surpassing it eventually anyway. Either bike is a good, safe choice, as long as you intend to learn well and be a good safe rider.
