My wife bought me a 2005 Lifan for Christmas from a dealer in Califorina in 06 and I have been tring to get the title every since. The dealer keeps blowing me and my wife off every time we try to request it. I work in Iraq so I am not home to do anything about but I can't evan ride when I am at home for the few I am there because this guy won't get me the right paperwork. Can anyone help me out on this. Thank you

They are supposed to give you a MSO or MCO (manufacturer's certicate or statement of origin) that you take to the dmv and then they will issue you a title. But.... (don't quote me on this)... I have heard from many people that this bike is not legal in California due to it's lacking in emissions requirements. You may have to take to Arizona and register there and then get it transfered after. I know 1 guy who says he had to do this and that it worked but that California just refused to issue a fresh title against the MSO/MCO because of the emissions shortcomings.

Hi there, here's a little FYI

I had a dealer tell me that the LF400 will not meet emission standards yet, he can't get any in OK because of it. But the other model's are supposed to be ok.
Good luck and safe riding when you finally get to.
