| Is this bike worth the money? Anyone know of a dealer in the US? Has anyone had to assemble one or work on one?

| This bike is worth every penny, I bought mine from TMotorsports off of Ebay, so far they have the cheapest price and fast shipping. I payed $1240 shipped and seen this bike go for even less as low as $1090 shipped from the same seller. If you call American Lifan...do a google search...they will tell you where the nearest dealer is located. As far as assembly plan on 5 hours for a quick job or do as i did and spend 2 days removing 1 bolt at a time and applying Loctite to them. The only draw back to these...all chinese bikes...is that after a few miles parts start falling off, but if you read the manual it tells you to recheck all fasteners. Loctite is extra insurance take your time and follow the instructions and you will see it is easier than setting the timer on a VCR. As far as the engine, it is as good as any name brand engine out there. But it only goes to show that your engine is only as good as the way you take care of it. If you want to slam the throttle and neglect the maintenence than get a name brand. You also have to remember that you also have to break the engine in properly, failure to do this most important first step and you would be lucky to get 200 miles out of it. After my break in period was over with I took a road trip to my brothers house 120 mile one way...all highway and some interstate...and let me tell you, this bike performed flawlessly, keep in mind these 200cc runs alittle hot so on long trips its important to take breaks every so many miles. I took 4 breaks every 30 miles, your out there enjoying the ride dont forget the scenery...when i got off the bike you could feel the heat coming off of the engine, but that is just the nature of the bike. I continued with out a hitch after each break. My brother was so impressed he bought one for each of his boys and 1 each for him and his wife. so far we all have close to 1200 miles and not a single problem. so like I said your bike is only as good as the maintenance you do to it. BTW it gets 102 mpg but that depends on your weight.

This poster is 100%. Loc-tite all fasteners during assembly, do the break-in and oil changes (many people change the oil before starting the engine) and do your regular maintenance.

| I am a dealer but I ride a GY-5 myself and for the price, there is no way you could go wrong.
I sell the American Lifan bike for $1375 shipped to your door and provide assembly notes to help you get going. Having a good dealer to help you is vital as well.

| | I recently bought one of these bikes from www.motoxtreme.net, and couldn't be happier with it. Make sure you get the real American Lifan bike, not a copy. A lot of places are selling copies, including some made by Lifan, but not imported through American Lifan. Most of these seem to have brake problems, some have an OHC engine, but I prefer the OHV engine myself. They are definitely worth the price, a Suzuki DR200S, while a nice bike, costs 3 1/2 times as much. I highly recommend both this bike, and www.motoxtreme.net. Jerry. |

Hello every one;
I have Lifan 200 superbike now for 1 year.
There are a few things that every one should know about this bike.
Speed odometer cable is not routed thought hole to speed odmeter and just needs to be rerouted is all. I have been motorcyling for 38 years and this is a good bike for the money. I paid 1,000.00 for mine new. There is one thing you also need to do is put lock-tite on every screw and nut and bolt. replace rear spocket with 34 tooth. Also throw any way drive chain and get o-ring type chain and you are ready to ride for ever.
My e-mail address is alltomlee@netscape.com
Spocket can be bought in Calif for what ever you need.
Chain can be purchased on net or local motorcycle dealer.
Oil is a little hard to change. Make sure you leave motorcycle on center stand at all times. i cruise with mine with above things only done at 65 MPH most of the time.
Other than that it wworks great.
i get about 85 miles to a galloon of gas.
i would buy another one just like it tomorrow if I needed another great bike.
speed ometer cable can be purchsed at local auto-motive supply company.

I actually get about 100 miles per gallon of gas.
I did break in period just like they said. an you need to do this for sure.
Mine is Lifan USA motorcycle.
I took road trip of 500 miles in five days with small spocket and new chain and it work perfect for me.
Replace the spocket no matter what you will like motorcycle much better that way. maybe that is why i get 100MPG to!
