Has anyone experienced issues with the tranny in these ATV's? I personally have not, but I ride my ATV's very infrequent.

We will be moving to a 10 acres peice of land soon, and will be utilizing the ATV's much more. Should I expect issues with the tranny / Front End??

no the tranies hold up very well on newer machines i have a polaris 800 and pull trailers around quit a bit and stuff and no trouble yet i have not herd of any problems. i dont understand what you mean about the front end but if you are talking about supsension lie putting buckets and stuff on the front i would get some peices of rubber to put between the coils in the front shocks.

I have just purchased an 800 EFI in the X2 model and joined the local ATV club. Several of the members have had their 500 and 800 sportsmans for many miles and have had no issues with the tranny or front end. Now this group goes Very Hard 4 wheeling and have had them burried in mud, backwards over cliffs and the machine still keeps going. From the abuse these people have put their machines through. I would think regular average usage would never pose a problem.

I pull a timberwolf tw6 log splitter every day through a woods with my sportsman 800. I go through a creek that is both muddy and rocky and up a steep hill that is about 500ft long. i travel about 1.8 mile both ways. and oh the splitter weighs 1475lbs. and no tranny probs. I have 825miles on my 06 sportsman 800.

I have a 2006 Polaris Sportsman 800 and can go 80+ miles on a tank. -Stock, no modifications. 900+ miles.
The tank holds 4.13 gallons.
So, I get around 20 MPG on dirt roads in AWD.
But, I do carry another one gallon plastic can along with - just in case.
I usually start out at 4,500 ft. ASL and go up the Bighorn Mtns. at over 9,000 ft., to give you an idea. (Wyoming.)
Another factor may be the fact that I use 91 super unleaded all of the time.
In driving cars I usually get 10% better gas mileage using super unleaded.
I haven't tried regular yet in the ATV.

And, I read that the fluid level in the front and rear ends is critical for functioning properly.

Anybody got a comment?
