| I have a 1997 SB6R. I was under the impression that Bimota only made 600 of these between '97-'98. A friend of mine said they made them up until 2002. He showed me a website that had a listing for a 2001 Bimota SB6R but the picture they show is clearly an SB8R with specs for a 6R. What years were 6Rs available in the US? What years were they manufactured in Italy? Are 2002 model 6Rs just hold overs from the factory titled for the year they were imported here to the US? What gives? Would love to know more about the bike. Thanks for your time.

I've got an SB6R registered in 2002. The story I got is that when the factory went bust, they had a lot of bikes, and the German importer, ZTK, bought them all, and has been selling them out ever since. They've run out of SB6R's, but still advertise YB11's. My bike has been modified by them into a Naked (Nuda in German). They removed the lower fairing, put a top yoke conversion on it, and some dodgy mirrors and bar-end indicators. Looks, er, unusual. It's also got a Touratech speedo, which is the sort of thing you put on your beemer to cross a desert on. Never seen another one, though I've got a magazine review somewhere
