I always seem to have problems with my display malfunctioning when I change the battery. This has happened on my 1995 750's and is now occuring on my 2001 Genesis 1200. My dealer has suggested manipulating the negative battery cable or replacing the displays, at very high cost. My 2001 Genesis was working fine until this year, 5/2006, when I replaced the battery the display went down and will not return. Does anyone know how to restore my display without replacing it? My friend has a Yamaha which does the same every year. However, Yamaha wired their machine to disconnect & reconnect the electrical system which resets the display. Does the 2001 Polaris Genesis have such a reset function?

i have a polaris 2001 genesis and i had the same problem. i changed the battery and the desplay stopped working. it turned out to be a blown fuse located in the electrical box. if you open the electrical box you will find two fuses one small one for the bildge pump and one large one for the instrument pannel. i replaced the large fuse and the pannel began working. also make shure you hace the right battery it must be a 12volt battery with 19 amps
