A guy at my marina has this ski and claims that it will grind up seaweed and spit it out, therefore allowing him to ride without ever having to worry about pulling the seaweed out of the intake grate. Does this ski really do that?

I personally haven't had any issues with sea-weed. I ride a lake that really doesn't have a whole lot to being with. But regardless, it's still a good idea to just check it (with the machine turned off, you don't wanna lose a hand) from time to time and clear out anything else. Seaweed isn't the only thing you have to worry about. Things like cigarette butts, plastic, etc. floating in the water can get in there too. So just check it as part of the maintenance and make sure it's clean and you'll have no worries.
