I am considering buying a demo 2002 4 tec gtx sea doo but I have heard there have been reliabilty problems with this new 4 stroke motors and it does not pull a wakeboard rider weighing over 200 pounds out of the water. Can anyone give me their experiences?

The Sea-Doo 4-tec is probably the best watercraft hands down, and now they have a supercharged version which is simply phenominal.Nothing will go as fast as the supercharged. If a dealer tells you it will, he is full of it, and should not be trusted. Regulations state thata watercraft can not go faster than 65mph (radar), so if anyone tells you their machine goes faster than that they are sadly mislead by a "fast speedo". That is it. On radar out of the box, a sc 4-tec will hit 65 faster than any other machine on the market. The 4-tec regular will pull any size person out of the water, it is incredibly powerful. A person who rides a Yamaha does not do their research before they buy! Just look at a Yamaha compared to a Seadoo! If you can't tell the difference between the two, maybe you should buy a Yamaha! Sea-Doo has over 80% market share, so they must be dooing something right!

I have a 2003 4 tec GTX. It is really sweet and powerful. I did have trouble though pulling a begginer wakeboarder our of the water, yet a more experience friend had no trouble. The engine has performed perfectly, just had trouble getting the begginer wakeboarder out of the water.
