| The SX Venom has essentially remained unchanged since its introduction in 2004. Having said that, I own a 2004 Venom which I bought brand new. I have had absoluly NO problems with this machine what-so-ever. It is a great running machine. I had reverse installed and was going to have Electric start installed but after starting it some 0 degree mornings, I didn't see the need as the Yamaha triples pull over so easy even when cold. In fact, this is the first Yamaha I've owned that didn't have electric start. On a side note, I've always been a Yamaha guy. Good handling, good power(remember it's not the Viper), OK suspension--(I'm pretty heavy at 250lbs)and great gas mileage.-- It gets getter mileage than my 2001 Phazer Deluxe!!!
I'd recommend the Venom ER if you want Electric stare and reverse. Over all, It's a great, reliable sled.
Hope that helps..

| the only thing i have noticed is it seems to EAT the yamalube, having looked it over and had Hackers in Houghton lake Mich look it over they said there is nothing at all wrong with it, aside from that my 04 venom has has NO problems, great sled! (on a side note if you are looking for a sweet sounding silencer can for it, try Hauck Powersports's web site, it sounds awsome)
