| Owner of a 2004 polaris trail edge touring, with 764 miles. Machine never gave any warning just shut down while riding. When checked two pistons gone connecting rod and crank, pistons were stuck in sleaves. Wondering if this happened to anyone else? what should we do?

| This is not a new problem. The engines in the 2004's were built with incorrect tolerances between the piston and cylinder wall. I know of at least 2 (mine included)and heard of at least 20 more that had to be rebuilt. Unfortunately when they rebuild them it is to 2005 specs. which mean they only get about 10MPG. It do have a nice ride though.

| I have the same type sled and have had the engine go twice. The dealer can not find the problem. The thing is a pig on gas as well. There are dozens in this area with the same problem.
