| How fast will this scooter reach 60mph and what is the gas mileage like?

| I sware what I'm about to tell you is the truth -- when I first got my 2006 Piaggio BV500, I wanted to open it up on the freeway late at night when there was little or no traffic. The scooter had just over a thousand miles on it. I was doing about 60 mph when I went full trottle -- the acceleration was frigtening. I had never driven anything with less than four wheels, before purchasing the scooter and addmittedly, I was scared at first. The scooter zipped to 110 mph before I came to terms with the rushing air and I looked at speedometer. I reached 115 mph, then backed off the trottle, I was doing a sustained 115 and noticed I had a least a quarter trottle left! The manufacturer advertised a 96 mph max for the BV500. The other night, I repeated the speed run but only got to about 98 on a flat stretch of highway. Possibly the speedometer, being new, was giving an erroneous reading back then but, after 7,300 miles it is truer now. Who knows....
As for how fast you can hit 60, how about 5.5 seconds! Not bad performance for a 40HP plant. |
