| WE JUST BOUGHT A 2006 AND WAS WONDERING ABOUT THE SPEED OF THE VINO. THE SALESMAN SAID IT WOULD GET UP TO 70 FAIRLY EASILY BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT WE HAVE EXPERIENCED.

| | The only way it'd do 70 is downhill in a 50 mph tailwind! Depending on your weight, you're looking at 50-55 on the flats, maybe high 50s on a downhill and as slow as 40 uphill, depending on the angle of grade. |

| What salesman told you that?
On the flat the Vino 125, with a windscreen, will hit 53mph, maybe 55mph tops. Going dowhill with the wind at your back, it'll approach 60. Even if it could go 70, that might cause a bit of a handling problem. It's not a high speed bike.

| Well, I am happy with the top end speed although I rarely push it that much. Since it gets excellent gas mileage and most of the roads in my area are posted at 45mph I seem to stay up with traffic quite well. It am not allowed to go on the interstate and have no need to, so on those rare occasions where I travel on a secondary road with a speed limit of 55 mph I seem to blend right in. I had a TANK 150cc previously and it would not reach the top speeds of the VINO 125, however, it did have a bit more pickup. The Vino has a smoother and mellow sounding engine. TANK can go stick their head in the sand from my perspective. Always something going wrong and totally undependable...Joe |
