I've got an 05 Met 1 (not restricted). There's not a lot that can be done on the cheap. However, a bb response to a similar question prompted me to buy this filter. It really works! The neat thing is you never have to buy another. Just some routine cleaning/recharging is all it takes to keep it new. It gave me a couple more miles an hour and quicker pickup. http://knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=33-2238 You can get them at pretty much any autoparts store for around $30. Granted, you can invest some $$$ in a better variator, lighter roller weights, kevlar drive belt, a CDI box rejetting your carburator, and a performance cam, but that can get expensive. Good luck...
