I am looking for a topcase for my Vino 125. Does anyone know one that will work. I know Yamaha made a trunk for the Riva 125 that also fit the Jog. Does anyone know if it will work on the Vino 125?
Thanks.

Here is some info I sent to the author of myscoot.com after another reader inquired. She sourced the model as a Givi E260 Micro II. There is a picture of it at myscoot.com on the "news" link.

comments:

It is a GIVI brand, Micro 2 model. The dealer (Vancouver Yamaha on
Hastings just east of Commercial) had it lying around and threw it in
for free. I had to get an extra key cut - needed a locksmith to do it
but I remember he charged me only about 6 dollars. It has a platform
which bolted on easily to the rear carrier. It is also easily removeable
- just turn the key and press the button and lift - putting it back on
is just the reverse process except that you tap your palm against the
bottom of the platform to seat it back on - John, one of the mechanics,
showed me this trick. The platform is thin and unobtrusive, about 1/2
inch high, so it is easy to carry some odd-sized package avec a bungee
net or similar and sans the trunk.

Trunk has a recess above the lock which serves as a handle, so you can
carry it around in the grocery store. It is very light when empty -
some kind of ABS plastic, I guess. Unlocks and locks with a little
spring-loaded push-pull kind of hinged affair. Come to think of it, the
mechanic had to fix the locking hinge which may be why somebody had
returned it. Took him about 60 seconds with a pair of pliers.

Dealer mounted it with not much clearance for the gas cap (platform
could be moved further rear-ward, but I didn't bother) which means I
usually have to remove it before filling up with gas. But this takes
only a few seconds, so I don't mind.

I think it is terrific - it was quite weatherproof during yesterday's
downpour here. I am not sure what its capacity is, but it will hold a
full-face helmet. There are larger sizes, but I guess one should be
careful about exceeding the 7 kg limit for the rear rack - I've probably
had twenty pounds in it which would be about 5 pounds more than the limit..

Also has a reflector several inches high and a about a foot wide which
would help visibility from the rear.

I believe the cost of a new one of this size is around CAD 129 plus tax,
but my memory may be faulty - the really gigantic ones I've seen on
large bikes are the size of a small suitcase and cost 3 or 4 hundred
bucks. It should be available at many places since GIVI seems to be a
popular brand. I have also seen them in a silver colour. I would also
think that used ones can be found at dealers, or on the local "forsale"
newsgroups, buyandsell, et cetera.
