| I was also puzzled by the "pass" switch. It flashes the headlights to high if you're in low beam, thereby indicating your intention to pass. Ofcourse in South Florida the jerk ahead of you slows down because he is peeved. Ah well.

| | It is to signal a driver that it is OK to pull in front of you. I use it on my car to allow trucks to pull in front of me on the highway. It just flashes the lights once. I will probably never use it on a motorcycle. |

| | I guess I wore mine out. In the event I am riding after dark I hold it in when I want the brights on. Then to dim my lights I just release it. I had to do a repair on mine because it apparently lost, what I would think, a little cup on the spring which makes the contact. I just stretched the spring a bit and put a dab os solder on the contact and it works fine! Just a little bit of possible helpful information. |

| I know this post was from a long time ago, but a little safety note is that universally, turning lights off for a moment is a signal that your are letting someone in, flashing your lights brighter is a signal that you are coming through. in other words, I turn my lights off, I'm saying "OK you can come in", I flash my lights brighter, I'm saying, "out of my way." you are probably getting the response from truckers even though its not exactly the correct communication, because so few car drivers know these signals, that they assume people will always be signaling them in, either way. Assume for safety sake, that when someone flashes you brighter, that they are passing or demanding right of way.
