Am I the only person who,in great weather biffed on my "scootie" because our country highway was graded and left about 3" of loose soil? Has this type of thing happened to anyone else?

Hi, sorry to hear about your spill.Did you get hurt bad? Were you able to ride after the spill? IN NY we cant ride on pkys of hwys, only local streets because the bike is too small. How fast did your Elite go?I just got a ch-80 elite,to commute to work on. I intend to ride in all weather.Does it start in very cold temps? Thanks Scootie!

As with any two wheeled vehicle, you have to pay attention to the road conditions. I too have 'biffed' when on a wet road and didn't see a man hole cover in the road. The only damage mine sustained was the handlebar cover and smashed my iPAQ.

I used to drive my Elite in city traffic and I am always more worried about others hitting me than anything.

In response to Kev's question, I drove my scooter exclusively in town. It was capable of 45 on level ground and over 50 down hills. On steep hills it would only do 30-35 depending on the grade. The gas mileage was the biggest benefit to me.

I live in the country and one night when turning off a paved road onto another paved road, I fell when I encountered a buildup of gravel where cars turn and leave some gravel buildup. I didn't see it in time.
I also fell onetime when I was makeing a turn in a yard. There was a big hole covered with grass. I guess it doesn't matter where you are, you can always run into the unexpected. At least, I will!
