Seems like I may have some symptoms similar to a few others. Sometimes the engine just quits. There is nothing on the display, not even when the ignition is halfway on. But wait a minute or two and it starts without a problem. Today it actually backfired. I am thinking that it maybe some winter gas that needs to be worked out of it. Not real sure!! Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone think it may have something to do with the ignition switch? Another weird thing is that my hand warmers are not plugged in either. It appears there might be a wire missing from inside the light console area the wiring harness under the front panel. I have taken some digital pictures that I can email someone if they are interested in lending a helping hand. Hoping to enjoy many months this year in the back woods. Looking forward to hearing from someone and not having to take it to the shop right away.

Andre

Well I just had it serviced and yes there are a few black puches under the hood and one has something to do with the ignition. When the bike would shut down, the display would turn off. When the display came back on it would start. Well this black pouch (size is about 4-5 inches long and about 2.5 inches wide) would get so hot that you could not touch it. It was getting hot as there was something coroded inside and a fuseable link would loose connection - causing bike to shut off. It wasn't on a recall but now that that was changed, a fuseable link to my fan replaced and the small crack in my air intake above the motor fixed, the bike works great.
