make sure you, have the fuel flow kon turned to on it turns .... make sure you have the tether on, make sure you have the brake pulled back make sure your using choke make sure the sparkplug ignition wire is on right... they usually dont coem on tight enough and make sure the on off switch is on.... happy riding

I just picked one up that wouldn't start when cold. I rebuilt the top end, but I think it needs the carb cleaned or the electric choke adjusted. The manual has several tips. One is cover the air intake with your hand and attempt to start. That richens the fuel mixture, again basically skipping the choke issue. I got mine to fire up using starter fluid. Once warmed up, no problem starting with either the kick or electric starter.

I had that problem. Tried everything - eventually a mechanic got it started by replacing the battery and then it would only run with choke on full. He cleaned the carb now it runs OK again. Not sure what he used to clean the carb. I hope that helps...

Just bought one of these Sportsman 90's. Got it from a guy who bought it new and he stated that it would never run right. Took it back to the dealer and they said it was fixed.

Would not crank after it had sat for a while. And when it would run, it ran it would cut out.

2 things i learned.

1. Pick up the front end of the atv and sit it on a chair for about 1 min. then try and crank it. (Mine fired right up)

2. The cutting out problem stemed from the elec. govenor under the left front fender. Small black box with a jumper strip on it. Remove the strip and retighten the screws.

Mine runs perfectly now.

Got the atv for $1000.00

Owner was tired of it he had pushed it into his fathers garage and let the warranty run out.

Original owner ran less than 2/3 of a tank of fuel in the atv before giving up on it.

It looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
These are a few tips and tricks that I learned from a fellow owner of one of these.

Try these and let me know what happens
