| I have a 2003 Artic Cat400 Automatic. It takes at least 5 minutes of cranking to start it . The dealer tells me that it is bad gas is the reason it doesn't start well.It has new gas in it and it still doesn't start well.I have asked him twice and still the same answer. Is it time to look at a different brand of machine?

| Nope, there is a problem with the machine.
I have two identical 2003 400 4x4 both with similar miles. One start within 2 seconds everytime by engaging the choke fully and just hitting the start button.
The other one sounds just like yours... no matter what you do you crank on it forever and then all the sudden it will pop off, you have to baby it and feather it untill it's warm and then it runs the same as it's match.
I have replaced the air filter and the spark plug with no real change.
I have been told next to remove the carb and clean it throughly, as it is suspected that there could be material from the factory that has partially blocked the low speed jet.
